In today's podcast I focus on the importance of writing in a personal journal. You can use your journal to write about your journey towards building your self-confidence. It will help you build awareness (podcast 0003), understand what drives you (podcast 0004), provides insights into what you are putting up with and more.

Your personal journal can also become a great source of inspiration to future generations. Your great grandchildren can read it and get a glimpse into what life was like for those of us living it now.

There are so many different reasons to write in a personal journal and I hope this audio gets you thinking about starting your own.

Yesterday in Podcast 0005 I spoke about the importance of giving yourself a break and having fun with building self-confidence rather than being too serious about it. When you do that you make it easier on yourself to step up, which is what today's audio is all about. If you want results you need to make them happen. You need to commit yourself to your goal and do whatever needs to be done. If you waver or if you stop for a while it is important to get back up and start again. Stopping is not a reason to give up. You will find each time you stop and start again that you are stronger than the time before. I hope you enjoy this podcast. Please follow me, leave a comment and feel free to download the audios.

I want to talk about the importance of using personal development like a game. A thing to have fun with. Yes, there are times when you will be looking into your past and it will be uncomfortable and unpleasant. Doing that will help you identify the negative habits you no longer want to take part in and transform them into a new, more empowering habit. Those times you may feel less than happy. But on the whole I want you to remember that building your self-confidence will be much more fun if you lighten up around the whole area.

What do I mean by that? Well Stop being be so hard on yourself. Avoid beating yourself up if you slip back. Make an effort to laugh at some of the ways you sabotage yourself. Just lighten up and avoid taking this whole thing too seriously.

What drives you. What makes you take action and stay motivated. This is an important thing to know and I encourage you to make it part of your self-awareness agenda that we spoke about in audio 3.

When you become aware of what makes you tick, what drives you then you have made a big leap forward towards building a life that is amazing and success. It is amazing and successful according to YOUR definition of those words. Not mine. Not your parents. Not your friends. Yours.

Once you know what makes you tick and you focus on the kind of life you want for yourself then you are successful because many don’t bother to take the time to do this. Many people live a life of quiet frustration believing that there is no other way but the way things are going. So if you take the time to stop and change your path, and you keep going no matter what obstacles life throws at you then consider yourself a success.

What you need in your life is a reason for living. A purpose that excites you, challenges you and helps you feel happy, fulfilled and alive. I am not talking here about building a big fortune 500 company or chasing material stuff. Your thing could be to learn to play an instrument, or raise your children so that they are happy, healthy and full of self confidence. Whatever you decide is the motivating factor for your life as long as you are doing it then you are a success.

If you are going to build self confidence the first thing you need to focus on is becoming more self aware. You need to figure out what you do and why you do it.

Life is full of challenges and right now you may seem them as inconvenient or bad or just something to fear and be depressed about. What if you looked at your problems and challenges as a way to make you stronger within yourself. A way to make you more aware of who you are and what you are capable of coping with. These challenges that life throws at us are nothing more than opportunities to develop ourselves mentally and spiritually, maybe even physically.

The only way you can do this is to become aware of how you react in different situations. Take a good look at your strengths and weaknesses. What makes you do and say certain things and under what kind of condition.

Doing this will help you connect to what you need to do to become stronger and more powerful within yourself.

Becoming self aware is a never ending process. No matter how confident you become in life chances are you will always be capable to being more than you are right now so get used to it and enjoy it.

Welcome back to podcast two of the Inspirational Guidance self-confidence podcast for women over 30. Today, we cover an important topic because it is such a major part of our lives. It creeps in and seeps through and ruins our chances of happiness if we allow it. It grabs hold and encourages fear, it puts us down and stops us in our tracks. It is our negative inner voice that lives within us. This negative voice keeps us scared about making a decision It makes us believe we are not strong enough to make a change It confuses and derails our dreams causing us to self sabotage so nothing gets done. It is the cause of procrastination and its time to STOP IT!

The Inspirational Guidance self-confidence and personal growth podcast is for women over 30. If you are looking to build self-belief in yourself or you are looking for a way to face life's challenges subscribe to this podcast. I focus on building trust in and using our own inner guidance system, as well as talking about how to live an assertive life where you are fully self expressed and able to ask for what you want. I will also be focusing on 'empty nest syndrome' - that time in a women's life when the kids are grown and leaving home. Its a time to plan because you are free to enjoy your own adventure once they leave. What it will take is confidence and self-belief in yourself to embrace this time of life. For many women its a sad and lonely time but it doesn't have to be. It could be a time to re-start an old hobby/passion or find a new one.
